Father's Oath

On my honor, I will...

Do my best to present myself as acceptable to God, a workman who causes no disgrace, imparting the word of truth without deviation.

I will, love my wife, even as Christ Loved the Church and handed himself over for her.

I will not provoke my children to anger, but bring them up with the training and instruction of the Lord.

I will take to heart these words which I enjoin from God today, and teach them to my children. Speak of them at home and away, whether I am busy or at rest.

As for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.

I have the strength for everything through him who empowers me.
