Meeting minutes from meeting of 02/27/07

  • This months meeting was SAMA's 19th
  • A lot of this months meeting. Was spent talking about the (then upcoming) Answer the call conference at Music hall, which was held March 3rd. This event again fulfilled expectations; please consider attending next year's event.
  • A special thank you to Ray Roesner: Ray was able to "dispose of" the five or so unsold tickets we had at the conference door, and managed to make a profit while doing so. Thanks, Ray!
  • Jim O'Shaughnessy gave the treasures report. While we have a positive balance, we have expended quite a bit of our accumulated resources. Fundraising ideas are welcome.
  • There was a very nice Thank You letter sent by the Sister Sama aided with carpentry, lites and paint down in the Vine Street area, at the base of the Clifton Hill. It is my understanding that this letter caused 1quite a stir when shown to other parish members, and SAMA's services were requested for a number of projects. That's why we are here, congratulations to all who participated.
  • Richard Sweet did volunteer to "chair" this year's annual after School campout at Winton Woods (Thanks Richard for stepping up large!) Richard has asked if anyone has any idea's, especially regarding "Children's Activities". The Secretary volunteered to pick up some inexpensive electronics at Biggs Cincinnati mills for use as prizes. Anyone with any good ideas: Send them to Richard Sweet or copy them to the Secretary and I will pass them along.
  • The St Ann's Chicken Dinner is scheduled for March 18th (I think!!!) SAMA's own Jim O'Shaughnessy has asked for volunteers for help with Finance throughout this event, if you are interested let Jim know when you can help.
  • As you may be aware, SAMA is sponsoring a small scholarship fund for the end of the school year. There was discussion of the specifics at this meeting, it was decided that Ms. Rosemond would make the decision as to who gets the prizes (SAMA didn't want to put too many conditions on what was intended to be a gift).
  • In going around the table this month: There are a number of SAMA members who have loved ones in particularly serious medical conditions. Your prayers for your brother's are welcome.
  • Lets all keep Kelly Ante and the Hardig's in our prayers as she nears delivery of Kelly and Brian's first child.
  • Father Tony gave a prayer involving the (then upcoming) Men's Conference: He prayed that it be a "mountaintop" experience. Somebody must have been listening, as this years meeting was well received.
  • The Roesner's ask for your prayers, especially for Diane, as they near a tragic anniversary.
  • Upcoming event:
    • Next month's SAMA meeting: I believe Pres. Thinnes is going to have us joined by the executive director for Cincinnati CrimeStoppers, Jim Kreimers.
  • We had the usual readings and prayers this month, and just enjoyed the time together. Hope you can make next months meeting.
  • Next Months Meeting is Tuesday March 27th at 7:00 p.m. in the school annex, ABC meeting room.
