Meeting minutes from meeting of 04/24/07
- This months meeting was SAMA's 21st
- 14 members attended this months meeting.
- Congratulations to the Ante/Hardig family on the birth of Kylie Elizabeth on April 26th!
- Ray Roesner: Opened the meeting as Pres. Thinnes was delayed. I was told not to mention that we got to "item 14" before Bob showed up after 10 minutes. I don't know why!
- There was an issue brought up early as to whether reading the weekly Readings at the monthly SAMA meeting reduced attendance. I am personally interested in how everyone feels about this, if you care to comment I will collate the data.
- The breakfast meeting at Golden Corral was discussed. This was a successful event and everyone ended up eating 100% on SAMA. Hope you made it.
- Upcoming Parish/SAMA events were discussed:
- Matthew Kelley, an inspirational speaker is talking at St. Ann Wed. may 2nd and Thurs May 3rd.
- Jim O'Shaughnessy brought up that meetings regarding the "back lot" (repairs and upgrades to the Athletic Fields) are being held Sunday May 6th from 12:30-1:30 and Tuesday May 8th from 7:00-8:00 p.m. Be involved, it's your Parish!
- John Quattrone is being ordained as deacon at the 11:30 Mass on April 29. Come out and support your brother at this important occasion if you are able.
- Richard Sweet is able to provide a (large) number of tickets to a Reds fireworks night game on Friday July 27th. Thank you Richard! Just a gentle reminder: These tickets will either be "free" or we will figure out some way to use them as a fundraiser. You are a lot more likely to get a "free" ticket if you show up for meetings! (It's just the way the world works).
- Way Out: Bob has asked if anyone interested in participating in this year's WEBN Run Like Hell event mark October 26th 2007 as the date. This is a great, fun, family friendly fright fest!
- Bob also has the ability to get some free movie passes to Danbarry Theaters. We are open to suggestions as to how this might be used. There was also a suggestion about having a "Drive In Movie Night" for SAMA families at one of the local drive-in's, probably the Holiday in Hamilton. Sounds like a great idea to me, I'll advise as this develops.
- Jim O'Shaughnessy covered the financial data. We have a positive balance but any ideas for fundraisers are appreciated
- The Parish council has apparently determined that SAMA will remain under the "Laity" council. Seems to be working OK so far!
- We had the usual readings and prayers this month, and just enjoyed the time together. Hope you can make next months meeting.
- Next Months Meeting is Tuesday May 22nd at 7:00 p.m. in the school annex, ABC meeting room
