Meeting minutes from meeting of 4/25/06
- Bob reviewed a very active month, including 7 projects in 14 days. In case you missed them:
- We had a regular meeting
- Went to the Ky. Speedway with 100 people, 58 riders/drivers.
- Had the regular Prayer meeting.
- Painted the lower playground lot for school.
- Took over this year’s campout project (June 9-11)
- Helped an elderly parishioner with yard-work.
- Served a Mass.
- Bob went over some old business:
- John B. is following up with Cornerstone, the downtown investment group. Attempts to contact them in April were not successful, will have more to report at next meeting.
- Richard Sweet and Reds tickets: Response to this very generous offer has been somewhat limited. It appears that these tickets will be made available to whoever wants them. We would still like to turn this into some sort of fundraiser. Please let us know if you would like tickets and are able to donate anything at all for them! Reds VS Indians is a premium ticket!
- Everyone involved has been very pleased with the results of the Playground painting project. The regular meeting attendees love this sort of local, limited project, especially as it benefits the school. Bill Schneider has asked that if anyone has any ideas for similar projects, they bring them to a meeting.
- Parishioner Bill Wieland was at this meeting. As many of you know, Bill spends ten days of every year in "Total Commitment" to the parish festival. He reviewed the work schedule for the festival volunteers, which is:
The week prior: Work all week with someone on site by 3:30-5:00, most crews start around 6:00. There is food every night!
Still need "chairs" of booths, including Big Six.
You can contact Bill at 353-4772 or at 893-1674 if you are interested or can help in any way. - Bob reviewed the upcoming Orphanage Wiffle Ball tournament. This family friendly event will be Saturday June 24th at 10:30AM (St Joe's Orphanage) next to LaSalle High School. This is one special event, it would be great to see a good turnout. There’s not much you can do that makes you feel better than bringing joy to child.
- Bob talked about the 3 Club golf outing on October 8th of this year. If I can play, anyone can, and the door prizes are great.
- Bob introduced a homework assignment. You kinda had to be there, all I can say is that it turned out to be a real good idea! (Come to the next meeting and see why the persons who attended the last meeting were very much appreciated by their wife's that day).
- Bob brought up and went over a meeting that happened the following Tuesday, May 2nd, a joint meeting with The Ladies Circle at Pinecroft on the Mercy Mt. Airy campus. Since the minutes were late enough, I can discuss this briefly:
- Fr. Tom spent a couple of hours reviewing couples based dialog, and reminding those of us who attended with our wives some of the things we tend to forget about reviewing the reasons we married.
- He also opened an appeal to those present to see if anyone was interested in helping with pre-marital counseling for couples in our Parish.
- If you are or would like further details, contact Fr. Tom.
- It was an interesting evening and the food was great!
- This month we’ve added a new member to the distribution list, Jeff Kuhn. Welcome Jeff!
Next meeting is May 23rd 2006. Look forward to seeing you all then.
