Meeting minutes from meeting of 9/26/06
- Special guest at this months meeting was Principal Marianne Rosemond. This was a great opportunity to sit down and get to know her on a slightly less formal basis.
- Bob had an extensive agenda for this meeting, lots of stuff to cover.
- Request from Father Tom: Operation Waterworks: There is a family in the Parish in need of some help with repairs at their home. Many of us (SAMA) are aware of this, have signed up for an initial trip to review these needs. As of Wednesday 10/4/06: We are still trying to schedule around a family emergency, we will send out a brief message when we can. Please lend your assistance if you are interested and have plumbing, drywall, carpentry, or roofing skills.
- Saturday Oct 7th and Sunday Oct 8th- Ministry fair at St. Ann's, outside of church at all masses. SAMA will have a booth and an assigned time, volunteers can probably just show up after Mass and look for our booth to get out the word on SAMA.
- 3 club golf outing is this Sunday October 8th: at Beech Creek Golf Course, on Hudepohl one block North of the Rinks/Flea Market on Hamilton Avenue, Shotgun start at 1:45 p.m.
Get there early for Putting and other contests.
Special note: If you are unfamiliar with the term: In a 3-club event, you play with any 3 (but only 3) clubs you want for the entire event (typically a driver, a short iron (5,7,9) and a putter).
Outing is only $31.00! Up to two dollars discount are available if you prepay and or bring a door prize worth $10 or more (dollar off for each). 9 holes, 3-club, shotgun start at Beech Creek at 1:45 P.M. 72-player limit on this small, "amateur friendly" course.
Outing is filling up but there are still openings available!
We'd love to have you and this is SAMA's only official fundraiser of the year. Lot's of major prizes and general good fellowship! - Run Like Hell: This once yearly night time 5 k event is staffed with SAMA security volunteers every year. This is a family friendly event where Dads and Kids guide runners through Walnut Hills Cemetery with flashlights (kids have a great time playing "traffic cop"). This year's event is Oct 27th (the Friday before Halloween). Bob usual wrangles invites to the after party for all the volunteers as well.
- Jim O'Shaughnessy gave the treasurers report. Amazingly, after an active first year we have a small positive balance remaining. Way to go, SAMA.
- Rest of the meeting went as typical: Covered the Readings, read the Father's Oath, enjoyed a nice spread of hot dogs and other snacks. Would love to see some new faces if you haven't been in a while (or ever). Let us welcome you, and add your voice to our group.
Next meeting is Oct 24th 2006. Look forward to seeing you all then.
